Tiling Prices in Israel: Overlay, Sand Bed and Removal

“Tiling per square metre” can describe very different jobs. Reviewed on 29 September 2026, the HaMiktzoanim renovation guide lists ₪200–250/m² to bond new tile over an existing floor, excluding the new tiles. Laying on a sand bed is ₪400–450/m²; that scope includes removal and disposal of the old floor, mortar and laying, but still excludes the new tiles. Compare the included work, not just the headline number.

Removal and walls

Old floor removal with disposal is about ₪90–110/m², while wall ceramic removal with disposal is ₪50–80/m². Wall tiling at ₪600–700/m² is a renovation scope that includes removing old tiles. Regrouting at ₪50–70/m² includes removal of old grout and is quoted for large areas of 100 m² or more; a small bathroom may cost more per square metre.

Check substrate stability, finished floor height, door clearance, drain slope and waterproofing before choosing an overlay. Ask for tile supply, adhesive, primer, waterproofing, cutting, skirting, disposal and VAT to be itemised. A leaking or unstable base is not repaired by simply bonding another layer. Kablay's tiling price list now separates renovation packages from narrower laying-only tasks.
