Heating system design

A heating design is not only for large houses. It is needed whenever heat loss, equipment size, pipe diameters, zoning and control strategy should be calculated in advance instead of assembled on site by guesswork.

When it is better not to start without a design

  • Villa or large private house.
  • Several floors or heating zones.
  • A mix of radiators and underfloor heating.
  • Heat pump, boiler or buffer tank.
  • You want controllable and efficient heating.

What the design includes

  1. Heat-loss calculation. By room and by floor.
  2. Heat-source selection. Boiler, heat pump or hybrid setup.
  3. Radiator and circuit sizing. Based on output, temperature regime and hydraulics.
  4. Pipe and manifold scheme. Diameters, pumps, safety groups and controls.
  5. Control logic. Thermostats, weather compensation and zoning.

What the design helps avoid

  • Some rooms staying cold while others overheat.
  • Noise and poor balancing.
  • An oversized or undersized heat source.
  • Rework after finishes.

Typical prices in Israel

  • Small heating design — from 1,600 ₪
  • Villa or zoned system — 2,500–6,000 ₪
  • With advanced controls and several circuits — higher by separate quote

FAQ

Can heating be built without a design?

For a very simple system sometimes yes, but the risk of output, pipe-sizing and hydraulic mistakes is much higher. On a real house that usually costs more than proper calculation.

Is a design only for new houses?

No. It is also needed for villa reconstruction, boiler replacement, extra circuits and upgrades to a more complex control system.

Does the design include radiator selection?

Yes. A proper design selects the emitters, their output, operating regime and connection scheme, not just the pipes.
