Shower sealing is preventive work, not only a response to a leak. Old silicone darkens, pulls away from tile and lets water under the tray or behind the glass.
When resealing is needed
- Silicone has darkened or pulled away.
- Water appears outside the cabin after showering.
- There is a damp smell or mould in the corners.
- The cabin was recently installed or refitted.
How the work is done
- Old silicone is removed.
- Joints are cleaned and degreased.
- Problem areas are dried.
- Sanitary sealant is applied.
- Joints are checked after curing.
Typical prices in Israel
- Shower sealing — 360–650 ₪
- With mould treatment and deep cleaning — higher
- If the drain or waterproofing leaks — sealing alone is not enough
Frequently asked
How often should shower silicone be replaced?
Usually every 1.5–2 years, sooner if it pulls away, darkens or lets water through.
Does sealing solve every shower leak?
No. If the issue is the drain, pipework or waterproofing under the tile, a separate repair is needed.
