This service is needed when a radiator is taken off temporarily, not permanently: for wall painting, floor replacement, finishing work or access to the pipe tails. The aim is to remove it, preserve it and reinstall it without new leaks or misalignment.
When temporary removal and refit is needed
- Painting walls or reveals.
- Replacing floors and skirting.
- Repairing tails and concealed pipe sections.
- Cleaning, repainting or restoring the radiator itself.
What the service includes
- Isolation and draining of the section.
- Careful removal of the radiator.
- Temporary sealing of pipe ends.
- Reinstallation after the renovation work.
- Replacement of consumables if needed. Seals, vent, valves.
- Startup and testing.
What should be planned for
- Old seals. They are better not reused.
- Bracket condition. After wall works they may need repositioning.
- The gap between removal and refit. If the circuit stays open for long, proper temporary protection is needed.
Typical prices in Israel
- Removal and refit of one radiator — 520–950 ₪
- With new consumables and minor valve work — 700–1,150 ₪
- Heavy cast iron models — more depending on weight and access
Frequently asked
Can the radiator be reinstalled on the old seals?
Better not. The saving is small, while the risk of leakage after reassembly is higher.
If the wall has been replastered, do the brackets need to be reset?
Often yes. New plaster, tile or panels change both level and depth.
Can the removed radiator stay off for several weeks?
Yes, but the pipe ends must be sealed properly, and the radiator itself should be stored dry and safely, especially if it is heavy.
