A concealed frame looks permanently built into the wall, but many faults can actually be repaired through the service opening behind the flush plate. The key is not to break finishes too early and not to ignore a constantly running cistern.
Most common problems
- Water keeps running into the bowl.
- The flush plate sticks or does not work.
- The cistern fills slowly or noisily.
- There is moisture around the service opening.
What can often be fixed without opening the wall
- Cleaning or replacing the fill valve.
- Replacing the flush valve.
- Adjusting the flush plate and linkages.
- Replacing accessible seals.
When the repair is no longer a small one
- A cracked cistern or frame.
- A hidden leak in buried pipework.
- No proper service access.
- A no-name frame with no spare parts.
Typical cost
- Concealed frame repair — from 240 ₪
- If branded spare parts are needed — priced separately
- If finishes must be opened — that becomes a separate stage of work
Frequently asked
If water runs into the toilet bowl, is it always the frame itself?
Usually not the steel frame, but an internal flush or fill mechanism inside the concealed cistern. That is a common local repair.
Can Geberit or Grohe systems be repaired without opening the wall?
In many cases yes. Proper systems are designed for service through the opening behind the flush plate, so valves and internal parts can often be replaced without breaking tile.
