A two-level ceiling is used to zone a living room, kitchen-living space or bedroom, and to integrate indirect light and spots.
When to order this work
It works when the room height allows a partial drop and the design is clear: perimeter, island, sofa area, dining table or bed zone.
What to include in the request
- Level layout — perimeter, island, rectangle or L-shape.
- Height of each level and final room height.
- Lighting — spots, chandelier, LED strip and switching groups.
- Wall finish status — ceiling edges must meet the future wall finish cleanly.
Typical cost in Israel
Expect from 235 ₪/m². Complex corners, light coves, many spots, painting and decorative profiles raise the price.
What to watch for
Do not add a second level just for decoration in a low room. If the finished height falls below 2.45–2.50 m, the ceiling may feel heavy.
Frequently asked
Do I need a design plan?
For a simple perimeter, a dimensioned sketch is enough. For complex geometry, provide a drawing or references.
Can drywall be combined with a stretch ceiling?
Yes. A drywall perimeter with a central stretch insert is common, but it involves two trades.
When should the electrician come?
Before boarding. All light groups and switches should be routed in advance.
