A hidden pocket conceals the curtain rail and makes curtains appear to fall from the ceiling. It should be planned before final painting and ideally before ordering curtains.
When to order this work
Use it in bedrooms, living rooms and kids rooms, especially near large windows or when a visible wall-mounted rail would spoil the look.
What to include in the request
- Wall length and window opening width.
- Curtain type — sheer, blackout, two tracks or motorized rail.
- Pocket depth — so fabric does not hit the sill or window handle.
- Lighting — whether LED is needed inside the pocket.
Typical cost in Israel
Expect from 85 ₪/linear m for the drywall pocket excluding rail and curtains. Motorized rails, LED and electrical work are priced separately.
What to watch for
Before installation, check how the window opens and where blinds or shutters run. A pocket that is too narrow is hard to install and service.
Frequently asked
How wide should the pocket be?
One track often needs 12–15 cm; sheer plus blackout curtains are better at 18–25 cm. Motorized rails may need more.
Can LED lighting be added?
Yes, but plan power, switching and driver access in advance.
When should curtains be ordered?
After measuring the finished pocket, so the rail and fabric match the actual dimensions.
