A flat suspended ceiling creates a clean plane, hides wiring and allows spotlights without spending days correcting the original concrete ceiling.
When to order this work
It suits bedrooms, living rooms, halls and kitchens where you need a straight surface without complex geometry, especially in older buildings with uneven slabs.
What to include in the request
- Area and height — room size and current ceiling height.
- Lighting — chandelier only, spots or both.
- Services — wiring, AC lines or ventilation above the ceiling.
- Finish — board installation only or full paint-ready work.
Typical cost in Israel
A basic flat drywall ceiling starts around 165 ₪/m². Spots, access panels, heavy prep and painting are separate unless included in the quote.
What to watch for
The drop needs enough room for profiles, cable and fixtures. Too little clearance makes installation and future spotlight service harder.
Frequently asked
Is skim coating cheaper than drywall?
If concrete is almost flat, yes. With large level differences, drywall is often faster and more predictable.
Can I stay in the apartment during work?
Yes, but cutting and sanding create dust. Empty the room and cover furniture well.
How long does one room take?
Usually 1–2 days for framing and boards, plus taping, drying and painting time.
