In a bathroom, tiles are the finish of a system. Plumbing, substrate, falls and waterproofing need decisions before the finish goes on.
Sequence the trades
Agree water and waste points, shower details, niches and access panels first. Then prepare the base, form falls and apply the selected waterproofing system. Tile is laid after the concealed stages are checked, not as a substitute for them.
Inspect critical junctions
Ask how the floor meets the walls, pipes, drain and threshold. Standard grout does not replace flexible movement joints. Valves and connections need an accessible inspection opening.
Compare complete quotes
Separate demolition, plumbing, base work, waterproofing, testing, wall and floor tiling, cuts, grout and sealant. Agree who buys materials and how concealed stages are photographed. Allow for the specified drying periods.

Frequently asked
Can tiles be replaced without renewing waterproofing?
That depends on inspection and the reason for the work. A leak or full opening of the wet zone calls for assessment of the old layer.
Why do I need an access panel?
It preserves access to connections and valves. Plan its position and size before tile layout.
When can the bathroom be used?
After the whole system has dried and cured as specified by its materials. Ask for the actual product instructions.
