A bath usually leaks not through the tub itself but through the joint to the wall. Old silicone cracks, pulls away and lets water behind the edge, causing damp and mould.
When sealing is needed
- Silicone has gone dark or pulled away.
- Water stays along the wall after use.
- There is a damp smell or mould.
- The bath was recently installed or moved.
How the work is done
- Old silicone is removed.
- The joint is cleaned and degreased.
- The area is dried.
- Sanitary sealant is applied.
Typical prices in Israel
- Bath sealing — 480–750 ₪
- With heavy cleaning or mould treatment — higher on site
Frequently asked
Does sealing solve every leak around a bath?
No. If the issue is the waste, trap or a concealed pipe, silicone alone is not enough.
