Appliance connection is simple only when the tap, drain, outlet and hose space are already correct. In real homes, the technician must check pressure, leak-tightness, drain height, safety valves and access to shut-off valves.
Which appliances need plumbing connection
- Washing machine. Cold-water feed, drain connection and vibration check.
- Dishwasher. Under-sink connection, hose routing and siphon check.
- Boiler. Water connection, valves and safety assembly check.
- Other water-fed appliances. Filters, fridges with water, coffee machines and dedicated household lines.
What should be checked first
- A dedicated shut-off valve. The appliance should be isolated without shutting the whole apartment.
- A proper drain. A low, clogged or badly assembled siphon causes odours, overflow or leaks.
- Hose condition. Old supplied hoses should usually not be reused.
- Water pressure. High pressure in Israel often damages appliance valves and flexible hoses.
What the work includes
- Inspecting the connection point.
- Connecting water feed and drain.
- Leak check under pressure.
- Test run of the appliance.
- Explaining where to shut off water in an emergency.
Typical prices
- Washing machine connection — from 260 ₪
- Dishwasher connection — from 280 ₪
- Boiler connection — from 480 ₪
- Boiler installation — from 720 ₪ for labour, excluding equipment
Frequently asked
Can I connect an appliance myself?
If the point is fully prepared and you understand the water and drain layout, sometimes yes. But many post-move leaks start with a poorly tightened hose, bad siphon or missing shut-off valve.
Do I need a plumber or an electrician?
For water and drain work you need a plumber. If there is no suitable outlet, the breaker trips or a new power line is required, that is electrical work.
What should I prepare before the technician arrives?
Clear access, check that hoses are available, and photograph the tap, siphon, outlet and the space behind the appliance.
